Berman Electronic is "taking a bet" on NFC (NearField Service) Technology Chips. March 29th, 2012
Bethpage, NY based Berman Electronic Enterprises, a leading distributor of electronic components worldwide, sees the NFC market to be the next big trend for 2013 and beyond. NFC is a set of standards for smartphones and similar devices to establish radio communication with each other by touching them together or bringing them into close proximity, usually no more than a few centimetres. Steve Berman, President and CEO of Berman Electronic Enterprises has been pounding the table on these chip providers and this coming trend. "We began taking inventory on NXP and Qualcom chips about 6 months ago ahead of the curve" Berman explained. We have already seen a great demand from Google and Samsung-based smartphones for these components and believe Apple will be implementing this technology in the Iphone 5. It could be either NXP chips or Qualcom devices. But either way, they will be in there and over the next 5 years people won't have a need to carry around a wallet full of credit cards." Berman Electronic has teamed up with a number of contract manufacturers in Silicon Valley, China and Malaysia to help hedge the coming wave of demand. "We are prepared for when any shortage will come on these devices through normal distribution channels and will help keep production going for our clients without dramatically hiking up pricing, unlike many brokers in the industry who prey on clients in need." Berman explains that is why his company has been preparing. "The number of NFC phones shipped will grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 87.8% between now and 2016. I think the numbers will speak themselves!"
